Things that keep me up at night

I usually wake up at between 2 and 4 every morning to get a drink and go to the bathroom and then my mind doesn’t want to go back to sleep. One of the things that comes up in the brain sleep deprivation sessions is how women are so strong – body and mind.
When women are born, we have 9-11 years of not so much happening…. when women hit puberty – everything changes. Hormones, physical changes, and emotional changes as well. Some of these can be rather painful. This happens monthly until we get pregnant, then those changes happen. We grow a child, our stomach and breasts get bigger. We have heartburn, digestive issues and so many more…… then we give birth and have those. Then we feed our children for however long. Then we go back to having a monthly cycle until we get pregnant all over again or hit menopause. Menopause brings a completely new set of rules that we weren’t ready for. Hot flashes, weight gain, emotional……..
So I guess I’ll leave this with all the women out there…. Show yourself some grace. You and your body have been through a lot in this lifetime even if you don’t have kids or don’t have cancer…. you have been in the trenches and in some way.
